From our tiny stone cottage retreat at the foot of the Mourne Mountains in Co Down, it’s clear to see why Ireland holds a special place in the hearts of people the world over.

It’s from here, with its ever changing vistas that I got my inspiration for Bog Standard, a range of gorgeous candles, soaps, and hand care inspired by and created in Ireland so everyone may enjoy a little piece of its unique beauty.

Lush green patchworks of fields, windy twisty country roads, higgledy piggledy dry stone walls, long sandy beaches, moist mist and rain….never far away. In essence, we’ve tried to “bottle” all that is lovely about Irish life and landscape and share it. Where ever you travel in Ireland, you can’t fail to be seduced time and time again by the beauty, sights and smells of this land.

  • We use a fragrance content of 7% in our fine candles. The industry average is around 3-5%. Experience the difference for yourself...
  • Our candles are infused with fragrance -this means they will release the same lovely scent down to the last inch!
  • Our soaps, made from natural palm oil and glycerine, are triple milled, just like the French make their soaps. The result is a creamy, silky and long lasting bar of soap that won't disappear down the plughole!
  • Our linens are made from Linen Union - This is a special blend of linen and cotton. So, whilst it has all the fine qualities of linen, the cotton makes it easier to wash and iron.
  • All our products our finished and packed by hand in our warehouse in Co Down.
